     The Cancer Research & Life Foundation Grant Program provides help to cancer patients around the country. Services include assistance in accessing therapies, financial assistance, support groups, and more. Simply put, the Cancer Research & Life Foundation's goal is to assist patients with their journey.

We strive to ease the financial strain of cancer on families by offering monthly housing payment assistance, allowing them to stay in their homes while prioritizing their loved ones. Our team is dedicated to recognizing the strength and perseverance of these families by providing the stability and peace of mind they deserve.

  • 1 UpOnCancer

    We are a gaming community-based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to direct financial assistance for adults in the United States undergoing cancer treatment. Simply put, if you are an adult in the US who has cancer treatment bills, we want to help. We do this by doing quarterly application windows where you can apply for funds; if approved, we ask for your bill and pay your doctor directly.

  • Bright Spot Network

    Bright Spot Network offers a small grants program called Bright Grants, where any Bright Spot Network families/parents/caregivers in need of financial assistance are eligible to apply for $500 in funding. Families must be caring for a child 0-6 years old or pregnant.

  • Vital Options International

    Assisting People Facing Financial Hardship: The VOI Board of Directors established the Selma Schimmel Vital Grant, a gift distributed to qualified patients. The grant program will assist those facing a significant financial hardship due to the diagnosis of a chronic, terminal, or rare condition such as cancer, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s disease, or many others.

  • Kammcares

    KAMMCARES is a foundation dedicated to the care and assistance of those experiencing major medical expenses and other living necessities. Monies collected provide necessities such as childcare costs and groceries, to name just two. The primary goal of KAMMCARES is to give those going through cancer more opportunities to make their lives better.

  • HealthWell Foundation

    The HealthWell Foundation is a leading independent nonprofit dedicated to improving access to health care for America’s underinsured. When health insurance is insufficient, we fill the gap by assisting with copays, premiums, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses. In 2023, we awarded more than $1 billion in grants through our Disease Funds, and since 2004, we have helped more than 1,000,000 patients afford essential treatments and medications. HealthWell is recognized as one of America’s most efficient charities—100 percent of every dollar donated goes directly to patient grants and services

  • Family Reach

    Our mission is to remove the financial barriers standing between cancer patients and their treatment. Family Reach is the only national nonprofit focused solely on helping cancer patients access food, housing, utilities, and transportation. Treatment requires more than medicine—families need a roof over their heads and food on their tables to survive. We work with patients, care teams, and community-based organizations to provide immediate and ongoing financial support for these basic needs. We’re challenging the systems that force people to choose between their health and their homes.

  • The Assistance Fund

    The Assistance Fund (TAF) is an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs by providing financial assistance for their copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and other health-related expenses. We currently manage nearly 100 disease programs, each covering all FDA-approved treatments for the disease named in the program. Since 2009, TAF has helped more than 190,000 people access critical treatment for life-threatening, chronic, and rare diseases.

  • National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) State Resource Center

    NORD advances practical, meaningful, and enduring change so people with rare diseases can live their fullest and best lives. Every day, we elevate care, advance research, and drive policy in a purposeful and holistic manner to lift up the rare disease community. NORD’s State Resource Center contains information on organizations that offer free or low-cost programs and services for individuals impacted by rare disease.

  • CancerCare.org

    Provides free, professional support services including counseling, financial assistance, and educational resources to cancer patients and their families, especially helpful for rural patients who might not have easy access to on-site support.

  • Patient Advocate Foundation

    Offers case management services, including financial assistance, insurance navigation, and access to patient support resources. Their services can help cancer patients in rural areas who may face barriers to treatment due to financial or insurance issues.

  • Cancer Support Community

    Global community of 196 locations providing personalized cancer support, all free of charge.

  • American Cancer Society

    ACS helps patients with a host of programs at a low, or even free, cost. Examples include lodging during treatment stays, rides to treatment, support groups and hair loss and post surgical products.

  • Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

    LLS.org provides support for cancer patients a multitude of ways. A few examples include support groups, financial assistance programs, clinical trial access, educational resources, nutritional consultants and links to dozens of other programs.

  • The National Children’s Cancer Society

    The National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS) provides emotional, financial, and educational support to children with cancer, their families, and survivors.

  • Cancer Survivors Network

    The Cancer Survivors Network is an online community where cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and families can connect, share stories, and find support. It’s a welcoming and safe place to discuss experiences, ask questions, and learn from others who have faced similar challenges.

  • Cancer Survivor Toolbox

    The Cancer Survival Toolbox is a free, award-winning audio program designed to help cancer survivors and their loved ones learn skills to better navigate the cancer journey. Topics cover communicating with healthcare providers, making informed decisions, and accessing support services.

  • ClinicalTrials.gov

    ClinicalTrials.gov is a comprehensive database of clinical research studies, including those focused on cancer. You can search for trials by type of cancer, location, and eligibility criteria, potentially finding opportunities to participate in studies that could offer new and promising treatments.

  • Livestrong Cancer Fit

    Livestrong Cancer Fit is a program designed to help cancer survivors rebuild their physical health by improving cardiorespiratory fitness, muscle strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. It offers structured exercises and support to help you regain your strength post-treatment.

  • Red Door Community

    The Red Door Community offers free support programs for anyone affected by cancer, regardless of the stage or type of cancer. You can join support groups, participate in educational workshops, and find comfort through social events and wellness activities.

  • American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) - Survivor Recipes

    AICR provides cancer survivors with nutritious recipes specifically designed for those undergoing or recovering from treatment. These recipes promote a balanced diet that can help support your body’s healing and overall wellness.
