Rural Access to Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are essential to advancing cancer care. They advance scientific understanding and offer patients access to the latest treatments and care strategies. Geographic access is a problem for rural communities because there may be a great deal of physical distance between them and trial sites.

There's a growing need to adapt trial inclusion criteria to be more inclusive of the diverse health profiles found in rural communities. Strengthening partnerships between rural healthcare providers and research institutions can also play a crucial role by facilitating the local implementation of trials to make cutting-edge cancer treatments more accessible to rural populations.
